Santorini Island, Greece

The Santorini group of islands is located in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km south-east from Greece's mainland. The main island “Thira” has a small, crescent-shaped and it is probably the only volcano in the world with its caldera in the sea.

The island is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera.

Santorini’s architecture is very unique. Each house has its own simple but beautiful shape. The colors white and blue are very dominant but there are also other shades of colors present.

In my opinion, Santorini is like Venice one of the wonders of our world. Well, I have visited the island now and I’ll definitely return again.
