Winter is ... back again ;-)

We got some snow during the night and this was an ideal moment to get up bright and early. It was a wonderful moment to walk over the snow-covered wilderness – so peaceful.

I left nothing behind … beside
my footprints ;-)

Enjoy it.

Ca' d'Oro, Venice, Italy

Ca' d'Oro (the correct name is Palazzo Santa Sofia) is one of the most beautiful palazzos on the Grand Canal in Venice. The Palazzo was built between 1428 and 1430 for the Contarini family, who provided Venice with eight Doges between 1043 and 1676.

There are thousands of wonderful photographs around that's why I decided to capture this unique Palaco from an unusal angle. The old Fish Market with its old red plastic curtain offered a fantastic coulisse and creates a special ambiance.

Enjoy it !

Best of Venice ...

... are the narrow alleys and all the secluded canals and everywhere you look, you'll find another eye-catching detail. It’s an amazing place!

But be careful with your travel plans because 100’000 tourists discover every day of the summer high season this beautiful place… and this is definitely not the best time to walk around with a sturdy tripod ;-)

Take care.

Burano, Venice, Italy

Yes - Burano again .... maybe it’s boring, but I have to go through all my photographs and … I like these colourful alleys.

What do you think? Which one do you like better?

San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, Italy

San Giorgio Maggiore is a basilica in Venice, Italy designed by Andrea Palladio and located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

The first St George’s church dates back to the 8-9th century. In 982 the whole island was donated to a Benedictine monk, who founded the adjacent monastery. The present church was begun in 1566, and was not entirely finished before the death of Palladio in 1580. The façade was continued by Vincenzo Scamozzi based on the original architect's designs and completed in 1610.

I captured this scene before sunrise and the weather was on my side ;-) By the way, you can visit the church and there is an elevator to the top of the bell tower….. and you can overloock the entire lagoon of Venice ;-)

Enjoy it.

Santorini Island, Greece

The Santorini group of islands is located in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km south-east from Greece's mainland. The main island “Thira” has a small, crescent-shaped and it is probably the only volcano in the world with its caldera in the sea.

The island is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera.

Santorini’s architecture is very unique. Each house has its own simple but beautiful shape. The colors white and blue are very dominant but there are also other shades of colors present.

In my opinion, Santorini is like Venice one of the wonders of our world. Well, I have visited the island now and I’ll definitely return again.

Please follow the link to browse over my Santorini collection.

Paris is really a wonderful city !

Paris is really a wonderful city. There are so many monuments, museums, places of interests (Eiffel Tower, Arc-de-Triomphe, Musée d'Orsay, Opéra, Montmartre, Louvre, Latin Quarters, Notre Dame, the Grande Arche de la Défense, the whole business district la Défense, the Champs Elysées and many other things) that one week is not enough to visit this wonderful city.

You just can’t see enough of Paris- that’s why
I have to come back ;-)
